We all love learning new things online! But some things are definitely questionable! I’ll just have to say that you can’t always believe the things that you hear/read. In today’s post I will be busting a few hair myths that just aren’t true so
that you can be confident that you are doing all the right things to keep your hair healthy!
Myth #1: It’s better not to shampoo your hair altogether
Definitely not true! The purpose of using a shampoo is to CLEANSE your hair of build up, dead skin cells, dirt and oils. Did you know that you can get bacteria and pollutants trapped in your hair? YES BACTERIA! GROSS! Shampooing should STAY in your hair routine. Even on the days where you go longer without washing your hair, I would even recommend shampooing TWICE!
Skipping shampoo can lead to irritation, itchiness, or flakes. We don’t want that for you!
Myth #2: Your shampoo needs to lather for it to be effective
Let me start off by saying that sulfate is the surfactant that creates a rich lather effect in shampoo that also makes your hair feel clean. This specific ingredient strips your hair leaving it dry, frizzy and can irritate your scalp. Professional grade shampoos don’t contain sulfates because of the negative effects that it causes on your hair. Eliminating sulfates means less lather. A great shampoo will still cleanse your hair without lather.
Myth #3: Hair extensions are difficult to maintain
No, you don’t have to visit your hairstylist every week for proper styling. Extensions hold styles WAY longer than your real hair. Saving you tremendous time throughout your day/week. So instead of you having to style your hair everyday, you can get up, apply your oil, brush your hair and go! When you have your extensions installed, your job is to dry, oil, and brush them properly. We take care of the rest!
Myth #4: Extensions will never blend into my hair
If you’re worried about your extensions not being able to blend, girrrl we got you! We choose 3 or more different colors to give you the PERFECT and SEAMLESS blend that you desire. We make sure that your hair and your extensions hair ALWAYS remain the same color, from the moment you walk out that door and when you return for your next move up! To go the extra mile in making sure your extensions look seamless, we perfect it by cutting into your extensions to give it the layers and movement that your natural hair has. SHHHH! No one will ever know!
